In order to save energy and reduce emissions, the Taiwan AA spent nearly 100 million yuan to replace more than 100,000 lamps in the airport with LED lights, reducing 95 million tons of carbon dioxide per year, equivalent to planting more than 40,000 trees and improving the airport. The color of the lights in the passenger building makes the skin color more natural when the passengers take pictures. The Taiwan AA also plans to replace the lights on the apron stern and sidewalk lights with LED lights and is studying how to comply with ICAO requirements. In early years, the Taiwan AA set a target of 20% reduction for the airport, and implemented a number of measures, including shutting down the key and introducing electric vehicles. Among them, the Taiwan AA spent nearly 100 million yuan. From 2009 onwards, the lamp and light pipes of about 100,000 lamps in the airport were replaced with LED lights, accounting for 78% of the lighting devices at the airport. The project was originally completed last year, but was slightly delayed until January of this year. The first thing to replace is the storefront spotlight quartz lamp in the east and west lobby of the No. 1 passenger terminal in the airport, saving 90% of electricity; the second is the electric iron in the toilet, saving 50%; and the baggage claim hall and passenger signs. The T8 light pipe saves 38%. Recently, the Taiwan AA replaced the metal halide lamps on the skylights of Terminals 1 and 2 with 5,900 LED lights, saving half of the electricity. Huang Jiahe, senior manager of the Engineering and Maintenance Department of the AA, explained that the Taiwan AA had to work with manufacturers to develop LED lights for the sky, resulting in minor delays in the project. Huang Jiahe said that the self-developed skylight LED lights have different orientations for each lamp, the light distribution is more even, and can be re-opened in real time after closing, plus the color rendering of LED lights is up to 90%, which is higher than metal halide lamps. About 20%, so the lights in the passenger building are closer to nature, and the effect of taking pictures by passengers will be better, especially red and purple will be more obvious than before. Huang Jiahe pointed out that the life of LED lamps is four to five years, which is twice as durable as traditional lamps and tubes, which can save maintenance costs. The four-person family consumes electricity for one year and can reduce 95 million tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to planting more than 40,000 trees of four meters high.
