The SHC Wavedancer? is the world's first high-speed catamaran with a variable semi-submersible platform. The design has been patented.
The semi-submersible catamaran registered trademark using this technology is SHC Wavedancer?. The shape of the high-speed catamaran is very similar to that of a large ferry of the same type, and can reach or leave the work site at a speed of about 50 knots. After arriving at the site, the superstructure can be lifted up by vertical pressure bars and the hull can be immersed in water with ballast water to form a stable offshore working platform, which is impossible for other ships.
This innovative design has enormous potential for use in the global marine energy market, such as personnel transportation, wind farm maintenance, marine surveys, inspections and installations. The patented technology of this semi-submersible hull (SHV?) is owned by OSSeas of the British Virgin Islands and is the only ship in the world that can change the internal volume.
