Heavy-duty commercial vehicle drive axles should meet the following basic requirements: Select the appropriate primary reduction ratio to ensure that the vehicle has the best dynamic performance and fuel economy under given conditions; the outline size is small, to ensure that the car has enough to leave the ground Clearance to meet the requirements of passability; gears and other transmission parts work smoothly, with low noise; high transmission efficiency under various load and speed conditions; with sufficient strength and stiffness to withstand and transmit the effect on the road surface Various forces and moments between the frame and the body; under this condition, the quality is reduced as much as possible, especially the unsprung mass, the impact load on uneven roads is reduced, and the smoothness of the vehicle is improved; coordination with the movement of the suspension guide mechanism is performed. The structure is simple, the processing technology is good, the manufacture is easy, and the maintenance and adjustment are convenient.

The competition in the domestic heavy-duty axle market is mainly two-stage bridges and single-stage bridges. The two-stage bridges have main reducer deceleration and wheel reducer deceleration. Because it is secondary deceleration, the main reducer decelerating speed ratio is small, the final reducer assembly is relatively small, the bridge package is relatively reduced, so the ground clearance increases, through the good. The series of bridge assemblies is mainly used for road transportation, as well as petroleum, mining, forestry, field operations and troops and other fields. The single-stage bridge is decelerated by the primary reducer at a first stage, the bridge package is large in size, and the ground clearance is small. Compared to a double-stage bridge, the passability is poor and it is mainly used for road transport vehicles.

The single-stage deceleration drive axle is the simplest structure in the drive axle, simple in manufacturing process and lower in cost. It is the basic type of drive axle and occupies an important position in heavy-duty vehicles. Compared with the drive axle with wheel reducer, due to the simplified product structure, the mechanical transmission efficiency of the single-stage reduction drive axle is improved, the wearing parts are reduced, and the reliability is improved. From the perspective of product design, heavy-duty vehicles use a single-stage reduction axle as much as possible when the primary reduction ratio is less than six.
