After completion, it will add 300,000 capacity to Shenlong and will produce Dongfeng Autonomous, Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen III. Large-brand models will involve SUVs, MPVs, and cars, and the factory's production capacity will be further released.

As the southwestern market has become a new growth point, more and more manufacturers have also set up factories in the region to better face the market. On August 25, the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the announcement of “Dramatic approval of the passenger car project of Chengdu Shenlong Automobile Co., Ltd.”, which means that the fourth factory of Shenlong will be built in Chengdu and the factory will become the “high end” of Shenlong’s subsidiary. At the factory, the factory will put into production of mid-level and above models, and will continue to put into production hot products such as MPV, SUV.

In the two years since the launch of the "E-movement strategy," the company has sold 440,000 vehicles in 2012 to 550,000 units in 2013 and accumulated sales of nearly 400,000 units in the first seven months of this year, an increase of 27% year-on-year; The results prove that the strategy for the development of Shenlong Motor's powertrain is successful. As a result, Shenlong also adjusted its annual sales target for this year from 600,000 units to “strive for 700,000 units,” so that the problem of production capacity will appear. Starting from the beginning of the year, Shenlong Company incorporated the fourth factory into the planning schedule and finally selected Chengdu Longquanyi District.

 

The total investment of the 4th plant of Shenlong is RMB 12.3 billion. Upon completion, it will add 240,000 units/year of capacity for the company. The first phase of the project will have a total investment of 7.905 billion yuan. Upon completion, it will have an annual production capacity of 240,000 passenger cars. The products include Dongfeng Peugeot, Dongfeng Citroen, and Dongfeng Motor's three brands of cars and SUVs. The company's total production capacity will reach 990,000, and breaking through the production capacity of one million cars is not a problem. It will take a new step.

The fourth plant of Shenlong was settled in Chengdu, which was the first time that Shenlong Automobile had laid out its production base outside Hubei. In this regard, Qiu Xiandong, general manager of Shenlong, said that Chengdu has a good role in the development and development of the western market, and Chengdu has a number of complete vehicles and parts and components companies settled in, with good basic supporting conditions, formed a good Industrial cluster effect.

In the aspect of future production model planning, Shenlong's fourth factory aims at SUVs and MPVs to enhance the competitiveness of Shenlong Motors in the market. It is worth mentioning that Qiu Xiandong, the general manager of Shenlong Motor Co., disclosed that apart from producing new SUVs and MPV products, Dongfeng and PSA have already determined that they will produce new energy vehicles.
