On July 4th, Rolls-Royce announced the signing of two oil spill recovery vessels (OSRV) designs and supporting orders with Brazilian shipyard Aliança, which was built by Aliança for Brazilian shipowner Asgaard. The total contract amount is 11 million pounds.
The two OSRVs are designed for the UT 535 E, including the design of a leak-proof system, with offshore oil spill recovery and onshore processing capabilities.
Rolls-Royce will provide design and equipment packages including propulsion systems, engines, DP systems, power systems, automation systems, and deck machinery MTU mainframes.
Aliança Shipyard is CBO Holdings and has built more than 10 Rolls-Royce-designed ships for CBO. Ships built for Asgaard will be delivered in 2015, along with an alternate order and two under construction.
