From 2009, the cooperation between JAC and Navistar has begun. Jianghuai has announced that it has established a truck manufacturing company jointly with NC2GLobal LLC (Caterpillar and Navistar, abbreviated as: NC2) in Hefei, Anhui Province. Signed a framework agreement for the joint-venture cooperation of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and plans to discuss the establishment of a Sino-foreign joint venture company in Hefei, Anhui Province. It is mainly responsible for the production, manufacturing and sales of medium-heavy trucks and truck parts.

By 2010, Jianghuai signed a "Engine Joint Venture Project" agreement with Navistar, and signed an agreement with NC2 on the "Zhongzhongka Joint Venture Project" agreement, which means that Jianghuai will jointly invest in engine and heavy truck projects.

In July 2012, the engine cooperation project was first approved. On August 23, the unveiling ceremony of Anhui Jianghuai Navistar Engine Co., Ltd. was held in Beijing. The president of Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. An Jin stated at the ceremony that Jianghuai and Navistar will gradually extend the cooperation to the engine joint R&D, medium and heavy Trucks, school buses and truck manufacturing and marketing in South America and North America.

According to previous media reports, Navistar and its joint venture company NC2 have a clear division of labor. In the engine field, Navistar is a foreign joint venture, and its Maasfu engine will be gradually introduced into Chinese production. In the vehicle field, NC2 is the joint venture entity. As the parent company, Navistar will mainly undertake behind-the-scenes work and be responsible for technical support and strategic management.

In the first half of 2013, JAC sold a total of 226,026 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 21.01%, of which truck sales remained the highest, reaching 121,480 units, an increase of 18.15% year-on-year. According to industry insiders, with the approval of JAC and Navistar heavy truck projects, it will also promote domestic and international businesses in the heavy truck sector.
