According to foreign media reports, Continental recently considered investing in a new R&D base in Germany in early 2013 to develop advanced driver assistance systems.
Continental Group expects to open a new R&D base in Ulm, Germany. The new base will help strengthen Germany's R&D efforts and promote global business development.
The Continental Group stated that it will add about 100 engineers in the short term to promote the long-term sustainable development of the Continental Group.
Marcel Verweinen, person in charge of Continental’s advanced driver assistance system business, said: “We will recruit new engineers from car manufacturing plants and universities near the company. The engineers will be assigned to the Ulm R&D base.â€
