Brazilian shipyard orders Konecranes gantry crane

In March of this year, Konecranes received an order to supply a Goliath gantry crane for the Brazilian shipyard Estaleiro Enseadado Paraguaçu ("EEP"). This high-tech crane is one of the world's largest gantry cranes and is expected to be operational in July 2014. The specific price information is not disclosed.
The crane uses the latest lifting technology, with a lifting capacity of 1,800 tons, a lifting height of 114 meters and a fuselage of up to 150 meters.
The new EEP shipyard started construction in 2012 and is expected to be operational in 2014. It will mainly build and assemble offshore installations such as platforms, special vessels and drilling platforms.
